About the Founder
Melissa Kreuser, founder and also director of Growing Green Fundraising, created this fundraising program with the environment as well as causes near and dear to her heart in mind. Melissa was raised in the upper Midwest with a deeply-rooted passion for the outdoors and more specifically, gardening. Having worked in the horticulture industry for more than ten years, Melissa has become extremely familiar with the need for beautifying the areas in which we all live and work. After single-handedly raising over $4000 for the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society and then running her first marathon with Team in Training back in 2006, she became bound and determined to develop a way for others wanting to do good for the world around them to do just that…and do it without a lot of difficulty. While developing the program, Melissa thought of her past experiences as both the “fundraiser” as well as the “supporter”. She desired to create a fundraiser that could be executed by any-sized group, at any time of the year with high returns for the organization and worthwhile, earth-friendly products for the supporters. Therefore, the idea of Growing Green Fundraising was born.
